Gale Force Westerly winds also means that a combination of wave overtopping, spray and debris may result in the closure of the Eriskay Causeway. To find out if the road and causeway are closed, please follow the Western Isles Coastguard Facebook page www.facebook.com/hmcoastguardwesternislesskyeandlochaber/ Flooding is also possible north and west of the causeway to low-lying land, roads and properties including Polacher, West and East Kilbride.
